About Attaining Creativity

Hello! I’m Pia, the artist and blogger behind Attaining Creativity.

I love messes! Creative messes that is.

I work with conté crayons, graphite sticks, charcoal, and pastel pencils. I love using these materials because I can really get my fingers dirty pushing colors around the paper. I use erasers and drawing stubs and make my artboard the mixing palette.

It is usually in the shavings of pencils, the scraps of paper, the disheveled fabric threads that I find colorful inspirations. My messes actually become my creative drawings. I incorporate fabrics, yarn, and colored paper to my drawings to add texture and patterns.

Visiting fabric shops, walking through gardens, and long drives are all inspirations for my creations. If I find a piece of fabric that is unique and colorful, I’ll find a way to use it in my art. Long car drives cross-country, especially during full moons, allow me to see landscapes in a different light, and cast a tranquil shadow that evolves into my creations.

The idea behind Attaining Creativity is to catalog the journey to actually attaining creativity, so that creativity is breathed in every second, every day. We all see the world, experience it, in our own unique way. My attempt for Attaining Creativity is that through my art creations, people will be inspired to attain their own creativity, in whatever form they desire or visualize it.

Attaining Creativity is designed as a showcase for my art creations. My blog’s purpose is to be a forum for sharing and discussing attempts at attaining creativity, from my daily attempts to yours. You can e-mail me at pia@attainingcreativity.com.
